Diversity Equity and Inclusion Team Building Activities

Are you looking for ways to improve your team-building skills? Team building activities are a great way to get people on your team working together and better understanding one another. It is a great way to ensure everyone feels comfortable with your company’s culture, which is essential in any workplace.

Diversity equity and inclusion team building activities are designed specifically with this goal. They help you create an environment where everyone feels safe and welcome, regardless of background or experience.

They can be used as stand-alone activities or as part of a more extensive training program for new employees or existing ones who need refreshers on how important it is for everyone to feel like they belong at your company.

Fun Diversity Team Building Activities:

As a manager, ensuring your team has fun at work is essential. However, sometimes, you need more than a happy hour or a free day at the beach.

Regarding team building, we all know that a bit of competition can go a long way. However, what if you want to take the friendly competition up a notch? Here are some fun diversity team building activities that’ll get your employees talking, laughing, and having fun!

  1. Team-building icebreakers: This is easy—ensure everyone has something different in their hands (like a pen or a piece of paper). Then have everyone hold their item up and try to guess what it is!
  2. Blindfolded obstacle course: Make sure someone has an eye on your employees (and not just their blindfolds) as they navigate obstacles while blindfolded. You are sure to get some laughs out of this one!
  3. Color swap: Have your employees pair up with someone with a completely different skin tone (or wear colored contacts). The goal here is for them to learn about each other’s cultures through conversation and observation for the day.
  4. Icebreaker Games: This is the traditional way of getting people together and helping them get comfortable with one another. These games are quick and easy, but they are also very effective in breaking down barriers between co-workers and building relationships among team members, precisely what you are looking for in diversity!
  5. Scavenger hunt: This classic activity will get people laughing and having fun. Set up the scavenger hunt so that it is challenging (but not impossible) for everyone involved—it will keep everyone engaged as they work together in small groups to find the items on their list!
